When Night Connects Music and Literature

With Chopin's Nocturnes and Texts for the Night, the series Klingt gut! celebrates its third edition at the Markgrafentheater Großes Haus in Erlangen. On October 23, 2026, Frédéric Chopin's poetic piano pieces will meet staged readings from different eras – an evening between chamber music, theater, and world literature.

Chopin's Nocturnal Sound Language

Chopin's Nocturnes unfold their effect in soft arcs of tension, floating melodies, and finely nuanced sound colors. The piano music opens an inner space where contemplation, longing, and dreams intertwine. Pianist Anna Tyshayeva shapes this musical center with a stage performance that combines precision, expression, and sensitive musical timing.

Texts Between Dream and Abyss

The literary level traverses different times and perspectives. Texts by Novalis, Ingeborg Bachmann, and Airen encounter Chopin's music and expand the evening with voices about fear, love, celebration, and dreams. The staged reading sets its own accents and lets language, rhythm, and musical orchestration engage in dialogue.

A Concert Evening with Theatrical Dramaturgy

The format connects classical music and literature into a concentrated concert experience. In the alternation of piano music and spoken word, a unique audience atmosphere arises: The acoustics of the Großes Haus carry the delicate Nocturnes, while direction and dramaturgy shape the evening into a musical-literary journey through the night.

On stage are Kai Götting, Luca Hass, and Johannes Rebers. The direction is by Matthias Köhler, and the dramaturgy is by Natalie Baudy. The event is created in cooperation with the Non-Profit Theater and Concert Association Erlangen e.V.

Conclusion: A Night for Music Lovers and Literary Friends

Visitors can expect not an ordinary piano concert but an atmospheric evening where Chopin's romantic sound world and texts of world literature shine together. Those who wish to experience classical music, staged reading, and impactful stage moments should discover this concert live at the Markgrafentheater.
