Experience climate protection together: The Erlangen Climate Initiative at ZAM
How will Erlangen become climate-neutral, livable, and future-oriented? The exhibition on the Erlangen Climate Initiative at ZAM transforms this significant societal question into a tangible invitation for reflection and participation. On October 10, 2026, the presentation will open its doors at 1 PM in the main building of ZAM and will connect climate facts with local perspectives and concrete action possibilities.
When the future becomes visible
At the center is the roadmap for the Climate Initiative with 41 measures on the path to greenhouse gas neutrality. Citizens, civil society, businesses, science, and the city administration have collaboratively sought effective solutions for Erlangen. The exhibition translates this participatory process into understandable information and demonstrates how climate protection takes shape as a communal task.
Energy, nutrition, and mobility in everyday life
The exhibition focuses on key areas of action such as energy, nutrition and consumption, buildings, mobility, and municipal strategies. Visitors will discover impulses for climate-friendly living, renewable energies, sustainable everyday decisions, and a strong environmental connection. A prominent example is the question of what contribution a balcony power plant can make to one's own energy supply.
Information design as cultural education
The artistic experience of this special information exhibition is created not through classical painting or sculpture, but through the design of knowledge, participation, and public space. Information design, visual communication, and social reflection combine to create a work view that makes complex interconnections accessible. The exhibition atmosphere at ZAM creates space for aesthetic experience, exchange, and personal orientation.
ZAM as a place of exchange
The Center for Exchange and Making in downtown Erlangen provides the perfect setting for an exhibition that tells the story of collective action. Among workshops, meeting spaces, and open offerings, climate protection becomes an experiential practical and cultural task. The presentation is aimed at anyone who wants to actively shape Erlangen and learn about sustainable perspectives for the city and everyday life.
Conclusion: A visit with concrete impulses
The exhibition on the Erlangen Climate Initiative welcomes art and culture enthusiasts with understandable climate facts, local solutions, and an inspiring exhibition atmosphere. Those who want to not only observe Erlangen's future but also think along will experience a valuable artistic experience at ZAM, balancing sustainability, participation, and cultural education. Discover the exhibition live and take away new ideas for a climate-friendly everyday life.
