Experience art up close: Open studios at the Regnitz

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Atelierhaus Thalermühle e.V. in Erlangen will open its doors. From 1 PM to 6 PM, visitors will gain insight into the workspaces and artworks of the artists working there.

Insights into creative work environments

The Atelierhaus is located in a listed ancillary building of the Thalervilla on the Regnitz. For nearly ten years, this location has provided artists from the Erlangen area with a consistent workspace. During the open house, what usually happens behind closed doors will be visible: painting, sculptures, photography, objects, and other artistic works.

Personal encounters instead of museum at a distance

The event thrives on direct encounters. Visitors can explore the studios, view works up close, and engage in conversation with the artists. This creates an open event atmosphere where creative processes, materials, and individual perspectives are directly tangible.

Amidst workspaces, tools, and finished works, an inspiring mix of exhibition, studio visit, and personal exchange emerges. The event planning is aimed at art enthusiasts, families, curious explorers, and anyone who wants to get to know Erlangen's free art scene.
