Experience Greek Dance Tradition in Motion
When music fills the room and first steps join into a common movement, the workshop Folk Dances from Greece begins a vibrant journey through the cultural diversity of Greece. On October 17, 2026, vhs Erlangen invites you to get to know traditional dances, discover their history, and experience rhythm as a communal stage experience.
Rhythm, History, and Community
The workshop combines practical dance experience with exciting insights into the backgrounds of Greek folk dances. Step by step, a feeling for typical movement patterns, musical structures, and the social significance of dance is developed. The focus is not on perfect choreography but on the joy of movement, encounter, and cultural discovery.
A Relaxed Atmosphere for Individuals
In the group, an open theater atmosphere develops where dance enthusiasts engage with the music and try out new movements. The course is led by Verena Wölfel. The workshop is bookable for individuals and serves as an inspiring introduction to Greek dance culture.
Practical Preparation
Dance shoes without rubber soles are required for participation. Street shoes must remain outside the classroom; before the course begins, there is an opportunity to change into suitable replacement shoes. The event takes place indoors at vhs Erlangen, Friedrichstraße 17, Room 24.
