Living together, living autonomously: Discussion group in Erlangen
How can one live autonomously in their own apartment while also having a reliable community in the immediate environment? The discussion group Living Together in a Rental Model invites open and informal discussion on this question. The focus is on the idea of a rental housing project in Erlangen.
New forms of living through shared exchange
There are already housing projects in Erlangen under a purchase model. The discussion group looks at a rental model and opens up space for personal experiences, wishes, and concrete ideas. Participants will discuss which forms of communal living can thrive in everyday life and how such a project can be developed.
Connecting independence and community
The event addresses a topic that moves many people: living independently in one’s own apartment while still experiencing social closeness, mutual support, and a more or less stable community. The exchange can reveal opportunities, limitations, and possible frameworks for communal living forms.
Perspectives for a housing project in Erlangen
The discussion group is designed as an informal kickoff. Two meetings per semester are planned. Ideally, this will gradually develop the foundation for a communal housing project in a rental model. The event will be led by PD Dr. Klaus Geiselhart and is part of the Society program area of vhs Erlangen.
Conclusion: Contributing ideas and shaping the future
The event experience thrives on open dialogue and the perspectives of local people. Those interested in new forms of living, neighborhood, social connection, and autonomous living will find a suitable setting for exchange and initial joint considerations in the Large Hall of vhs Erlangen.
