Repairing Bicycles Yourself: Safer Together Through Everyday Life
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, E-Werk Erlangen will be transformed into an open bicycle workshop for women. In the workshop from the series Women* Get Involved, practical help for self-help, collective learning, and direct engagement with one's own bicycle will be the focus.
Get Hands-On, Try Out, and Learn
From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, women from the bicycle workshop team will show how to independently handle simple bicycle repairs. Whether it's minor maintenance tasks or the first steps to tackle typical problems: Participants will receive understandable tips, concrete instructions, and support directly on their own bicycles.
Workshop Atmosphere at E-Werk Erlangen
The event experience thrives on practical work. Instead of just watching, participants will bring their own bicycles and immediately apply the steps taught. This creates a combination of expert guidance, focused tinkering, and an encouraging audience atmosphere in the bicycle workshop of E-Werk.
Help for Self-Help for Greater Bicycle Competence
The event follows the principle of a self-help workshop: Knowledge is shared, tools are used sensibly, and repairs are made understandable together. This strengthens individual bicycle skills and supports sustainable mobility in Erlangen. E-bike-specific repair tips are not part of the workshop.
Important Notes for Participation
Participants should bring their own bicycles. Spaces are limited. The workshop is free of charge, donations are welcome. Registration can be made via email to fahrradwerkstatt@e-werk.de.
Conclusion: Ride with New Knowledge
The workshop offers a practical introduction to bicycle repair and creates space for exchange, encouragement, and independent experimentation. Those who want to better understand their bicycle and confidently tackle simple repairs will experience an informative and communal afternoon at E-Werk Erlangen.
