20 Years of BIG: Movement, Encounter, and Athletic Energy in Erlangen
BIG Erlangen celebrates its 20th anniversary with a versatile open house day at the Gerd-Lohwasser-Halle. On Friday, October 16, 2026, doors will open at 12:30 PM for women who want to discover new sports offerings, try out different forms of movement, and celebrate the anniversary together.
Free Trial Classes for Every Fitness Level
The focus will be on free trial classes from the BIG sports program. Whether a beginner or an experienced athlete: The offerings invite everyone to become active, learn new training stimuli, and experience the unique stadium atmosphere of a modern sports hall. Registration is not required.
Diverse Program with Women's Football and Table Tennis
The sporty conclusion until about 7:30 PM brings movement into the hall. The program includes women's football, meditative healing exercises from the Far East, and table tennis. Different intensities and varied forms of movement ensure that both beginners and experienced participants find suitable impulses.
Planning Meeting and Joint BIG Anniversary
From 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the traditional BIG planning meeting will take place. Participants can share their wishes for the upcoming course program and actively shape which offerings will remain or be newly added. A small finger food buffet, along with coffee, tea, and drinks, will accompany the exchange.
Surprises, Raffle, and Childcare
Those who try three different courses will receive one of 100 instant surprises. Additionally, three BIG course vouchers worth 50 euros each will be raffled among all visitors. For mothers, supervised childcare will be available during the event in the play and climbing landscape for children aged 4 to 9 years.
