Heights Flight instead of Seat: Young Theater Enthusiasts Conquer the Stage

On October 13, 2026, the Heights Flight Theater Club for young people aged 13 to 17 will start at the Schauspiel Erlangen. The kick-off meeting invites participants to explore creatively, contribute their own ideas, and discover theater together with other young people.

Dive Playfully into the World of Acting

The focus is on acting and movement techniques, improvisation, and collaborative experimentation. From the impulses of the youth, an original theater piece will develop throughout the season, which will be presented on stage in the summer of 2027. The dramaturgy arises from the group: Every idea, every movement, and every scene can become the starting point for a new stage world.

Theater Education with Melanie Kuch

The theater club is led by theater educator Melanie Kuch. She works at the intersection of communication, direction, and artistic interaction, bringing experience from youth clubs, workshops, and festival formats. For Heights Flight, she combines expert guidance with openness to the perspectives of young people.

From the Theater Space to the Stage

The program includes regular rehearsals on Tuesdays from 5 PM to 7 PM, as well as additional rehearsal weekends. The group will also attend two performances at the Schauspiel Erlangen and then talk with the actors about their experiences. Thus, theater is not only observed but experienced as a lively stage experience, as theatrical atmosphere, and as a shared space for thinking.

A Creative Gathering Place for Youth

The theater club targets youth with and without prior experience. The focus is on curiosity, movement, imagination, and the joy of creating something together. Set design, lighting mood, body work, and acting are explored through the process. The audience's reaction to their final presentation ultimately marks the climax of an artistic journey.
