Strawberry Field - Strawberries Schaufler | Self-Picking & Prices

Strawberry Field - Strawberries Schaufler is not a classic event venue, but a seasonal strawberry self-picking field run by the Schaufler family in Erlangen-Steudach. This is exactly what makes the address relevant for inquiries about strawberries, opening hours, prices, directions, and contact: The website clearly focuses on what visitors really want to know. This includes current information, opening hours & prices, picking instructions for 2025, variety information, contact/directions, pictures, the Ackergarten, and an additional holiday home. The location is indicated in Steudach/91056 Erlangen, at the entrance to Büchenbach next to the residential house St. Michael 17. The homepage currently states season end 2025 and closed, so current notices should be checked before each visit. Those looking for tickets or an event calendar will find themselves here more likely at a regional self-harvest offer than at an event location; this is a logical conclusion from the website structure and visible content. The city of Erlangen also lists Schaufler as a regional organic and direct marketing address, which additionally places the location locally. ([erdbeeren-schaufler.de](https://www.erdbeeren-schaufler.de/))

Self-Picking, Opening Hours, and Prices

For user searches, the topic of self-picking is the strongest entry point, as this is where the address fulfills its actual promise: experiencing strawberries directly in the field and organizing the season as an outing. The official website has its own section for opening hours & prices, and it becomes clear on the subpage that the offer is oriented around the season. Currently, the strawberry field is closed, and the page refers to the season end in 2025. This is important for SEO and visit planning because search terms like opening hours, prices, and currently open can only be meaningfully answered if the seasonal character is taken into account. Local reporting indicates that the field is perceived as a self-picking destination with several varieties during the season; in 2021, it was described as open for about four weeks, and Schaufler explained at that time that about ten varieties are grown. Such information shows why visitors primarily use the site: not for fixed ongoing events, but for an outing dependent on weather, ripeness, and season. The combination of harvest time, variety change, and current availability makes the site dynamic. Therefore, anyone planning a trip should not rely on general event logic but on the specific website notices, as relevant information is provided there in a concise form. This focus also explains why terms like self-picking, opening hours, and prices are much closer in content to the address than classic ticket or program searches. Directions to Steudach and Contact Before Visiting

Directions are particularly important for a self-picking plantation because many visitors do not drive to the city center but directly to the outskirts. Schaufler describes the location very specifically: The plantation is located in Steudach, at the entrance to Büchenbach next to the residential house St. Michael 17. Additionally, the contact page points out that one should follow the directional signs. This clear direction is an advantage for people traveling with children, baskets, or after a spontaneous strawberry craving. The contact page also lists the mobile number 0160 91172617 and the email address info@erdbeeren-schaufler.de. The imprint adds the operator Klaus Schaufler as well as the address Kieselbergstraße 1 in 91056 Erlangen. For the search intent directions, it is also relevant that the city of Erlangen lists Schaufler in its directory under Steudacher Straße in Erlangen-Büchenbach; there, the contact address ackergarten@schaufler-steudach.de is also noted. This mix of Steudach, Büchenbach, and Erlangen may seem like several local references at first glance, but it is logically coherent: It is an agricultural operation with offers at more than one location in the western and southern parts of Erlangen. Therefore, those planning a visit should read the respective pages carefully instead of just adopting the location information from the map search. This is useful for local outings as it allows for quicker differentiation between the strawberry field, Ackergarten, and other offers. ([erdbeeren-schaufler.de](https://www.erdbeeren-schaufler.de/kontakt/))

Varieties 2025, Picking Instructions, and Seasonal Logic

Another central search area is the question of varieties, as the variety determines ripening time, taste, firmness, and harvest window for strawberries. On the official page Our Varieties 2025, Schaufler lists a remarkably wide selection: Alba, Allegro, Asia, Clery, Daroyal, Falco, Faith, Lambada, Polka, Rumba, Sonata, Sonsation, and Verdi. The descriptions make it clear that there are early, mid-early, mid, and late types. Daroyal, Falco, Faith, Sonsation, and Verdi are marked there as new or new to the field, indicating that the assortment changes from year to year. Additionally, the website explains that new seedlings are planted every year in early or mid-May, that these plants bear the first harvest-ready fruits a year later, and can usually be harvested for up to three years. This is important for visitors as it explains the seasonal logic of the field: Not every berry is available at all times, and ripening follows a biological rhythm rather than an artificially set sales rhythm. A local newspaper report from 2021 confirms the image of a diverse field and mentions the varieties Korona, Lambada, and Sonata as particularly well-known or popular. Even though the exact variety list has changed since then, the core message remains the same: The field works with multiple varieties to stretch the picking phase and offer different flavor profiles. Therefore, anyone looking for picking instructions, variety selection, or harvest time will not find event language here, but rather agriculturally clean seasonal information. The Ackergarten in Büchenbach and Steudach

The Ackergarten shows that Schaufler not only offers strawberries but thinks more broadly about the agricultural location. The website has described the Ackergarten in Büchenbach since April 2020 and in Steudach since April 2023. It consists of seasonally rented plots of land of 50 square meters each, intended for people who want to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers in organic quality themselves. According to the website, the soil is certified according to EU organic regulation, specifically with DE-ÖKO-006, and the plots are prepared for planting. At the start of the season, users receive a package with young plants and seeds. This information is not only interesting for families and hobby gardeners but also for searches for regional, sustainable, and organic offers in Erlangen. The page provides directions for the Büchenbach site via Steudacher Straße, turning right from Johannisfeuerplatz on the car-free road, after about 300 meters on the right side, accessible only by bike or on foot. For Steudach, it states that the garden is located on St. Michael Street on the western outskirts towards A3. The city of Erlangen also lists the Ackergarten among its organic and regional addresses with a phone number and email. This makes it clear that Schaufler not only operates a strawberry field but has built a small network of direct marketing, self-harvesting, and community gardening. This breadth makes the site attractive for local search engine queries as it connects agriculture, leisure, and regional supply. What Visitors Especially Appreciate About the Family Facility

The strength of Strawberry Field - Strawberries Schaufler lies less in a spectacular event architecture than in the authenticity of a functioning family business. The site conveys that practical information stands before staging: current notices, varieties, picking instructions, contact, directions, and additional gardening offers. For search terms like events and tickets, this is not a classic target object, but from an SEO perspective, this difference is important. The most likely user intent behind such terms is not the purchase of an admission ticket but the question of whether the area is open, how to get there, and whether an outing is worthwhile. This conclusion arises from the structure of the website and from seasonal communication. Particularly helpful is that the address clearly focuses on self-picking, thus offering an immediate experience. Local reports about Schaufler also emphasize the seasonal character and variety, positioning the field as an excursion destination with real harvesting experience. Those traveling with children will find here not an anonymous operation but a personal, tangible agriculture with understandable paths, contact options, and additional offers like the Ackergarten. Also, the fact that the city of Erlangen mentions the address in connection with organic and regionality strengthens the profile. The result is a location that stands out in search results not through size or glamour but through reliability, regionality, and the clear idea of self-harvesting. This is exactly why terms like opening hours, prices, directions, varieties, and self-picking are the relevant SEO topics, while ticket or program questions play a more symbolic rather than literal role. A very nice place to spend a day picking up the strawberries of your own choice. The guy is very friendly. We had a very good time picking up the strawberries though we couldn't find good ones because of the rain.

We had Amazing family time of hand picking organic sweet strawberries here. Farm is kids friendly and kids of all ages allowed to pick the berries. Entry to the farm is free and we can eat a couple of berries while picking. We have to weigh the berries we have collected at the end. The rates are very reasonable, 5 EUR a kg approximately. The Schaufler family farm is easily accessible from Erlangen with public transport as well. There is enough parking space for cars as well. Schaufler family is very kind and supportive. They also truly understand the importance of organic life.

Friendly people run the farm, a good day out 😍 different varieties of berries are grown there, which can be tasted while picking. Once your basket is full, need to get to the counter to weigh and it costs 5€/kg. Quite reasonable.
