It is also important to note that times may change during celebrations or special events. The website additionally states that from May 4, 2026, it will be open again on Mondays, and reservations on that day will be possible again. This is practical for guests, as the Thalermühle can be reliably planned on several days of the week while also being able to respond flexibly to event days. Those who want to drop by spontaneously should pay attention to the online notice regarding the reservation system: if the system no longer accepts bookings, all reservable places are taken. This is a useful indicator, as the location can be in high demand, especially on nice days and during events. Phone inquiries are possible during opening hours. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

For quick orientation, the Thalermühle is thus a location with a clear structure: address known, opening hours clear, online reservation, and a good interplay between restaurant operation and event offerings. So, anyone searching for Thalermühle Erlangen opening hours, Thalermühle map, or Thalermühle 1 Erlangen will receive not only an address but a place with fixed times, seasonal dynamics, and a noticeable proximity to events. This mix of reliability and flexibility makes the visit easy to plan. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

Menu, Dishes, and Franconian Cuisine

The menu of the Thalermühle is clearly regionally influenced and is oriented towards Franconian cuisine with fresh ingredients. The restaurant page describes that the kitchen offers modern, Franconian-regional, and seasonal dishes, and the menu changes with the seasons, while favorite dishes are kept as permanent fixtures. This is interesting for guests looking for Thalermühle menu or Thalermühle menu, as they will find not only typical classics but also seasonal variety. The menu includes, among other things, Matjes Thalermühlen-style, trout with parsley potatoes and salad bouquet, Franconian sausages, sour zipfel, currywurst XL, children's dishes like dumplings with sauce or spaetzle with sauce, as well as desserts like chocolate soufflé and mixed ice cream sundae. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/restaurant?utm_source=openai))

Particularly defining is the commitment to regional quality. The website emphasizes that fresh food from Franconia is delivered every morning and that meat and sausage also come from regional producers. This makes the offering down-to-earth but not arbitrary. Instead of interchangeable standard cuisine, the Thalermühle focuses on a clearly recognizable Franconian signature: hearty, fresh, and with a connection to the surroundings. For many guests, this is exactly why the location is perceived not only as an event venue but also as a gastronomic destination. Those who dine here experience a brewery atmosphere that consists of region, craftsmanship, and a consciously careful preparation. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

The selection of drinks also plays a significant role. The menu features the house-made or brewed beers for the Thalermühle, including 3x11, a pale lager with reference to the Weller tradition, Jean-Paul beer as a dark, unfiltered lager with natural yeast, and Windmühlenweiße, an amber wheat beer brewed exclusively for the Thalermühle. The offering is complemented by brewer's beer, cooperative beer, and non-alcoholic and wheat-based variants. This mix is important for the keywords around menu, beer garden, and Erlangen, as it shows that the location offers not only food but also its own beverage culture. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/Speisekarte))

Content-wise, the menu is thus not just a side dish to the beer garden but a central argument for the visit. Especially in combination with the historic ambiance and proximity to the Regnitz, a complete experience is created: those who come with family, friends, or colleagues will find classic Franconian dishes, regional products, and an honest, well-readable selection. This makes the Thalermühle particularly attractive for guests who think of good food, menu variety, and an authentic pub feeling when they think of Thalermühle Erlangen. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/restaurant?utm_source=openai))

Beer Garden by the Regnitz, Directions, and Parking

The beer garden is one of the strongest arguments for the Thalermühle. The official presentation describes it as a large beer garden by the river, directly on the Regnitz and facing west. For many guests, this is exactly the mix that makes a summer visit special: water, evening atmosphere, and a relaxed ambiance away from the urban hustle and bustle. The location explicitly sees itself as a destination for city strollers, cyclists, and people looking for a break in the greenery. At the same time, the place remains well connected to the city center. The S-Bahn and regional bus are just a few minutes away, making the Thalermühle interesting for spontaneous visits as well as for planned meetings with several people. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/biergarten?utm_source=openai))

Regarding parking, the location is described very specifically: directly at the Thalermühle, there are only parking spaces for people with disabilities. Those arriving by car should use the West parking lot, which is only a few meters away and easily accessible via the A73. This information is particularly important for the keywords Thalermühle map, Thalermühle Erlangen beer garden, and Thalermühle 1 Erlangen, as it significantly simplifies arrival while setting realistic expectations. Therefore, those arriving in summer will find no large parking area directly in front of the building, but a well-thought-out mix of short walking distance, motorway connection, and public transport. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

The public transport is also clearly highlighted. The website emphasizes the immediate proximity to the train station and bus station, making the Thalermühle easily accessible not only for car and bicycle guests but also for train travelers and city visitors. This location is a real advantage, as it facilitates spontaneous beer garden visits as well as planned meetings before a concert or celebration. For many search queries, this is relevant: the location is not on the outskirts but close to the city center and yet directly on the Regnitz, in a place that feels both urban and close to nature. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

It is also particularly pleasant that the Thalermühle does not view the beer garden in isolation but as part of the overall offering. Drinks, Franconian cuisine, seating options, and proximity to events interconnect. This makes the place interesting for families as well as for groups who want to sit outside together after work. So, if you are looking for a real beer garden in Erlangen with a clearly understandable arrival, you will find the Thalermühle at a very specific address: riverside, central, easily accessible, and with an infrastructure designed for visitors. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/biergarten?utm_source=openai))

Events, Concerts, and Current Dates

The Thalermühle is not only a restaurant and beer garden but also an event venue. The homepage of the official website lists several current dates, including the May Festival at the Thalermühle from May 14 to 16, 2026, with live music in the beer garden. Various artists are announced for this date, and visitors can reserve standing tables or beer tables; even a VIP area is mentioned. This shows that the location specifically addresses event visitors and does not rely solely on walk-in customers. In case of bad weather, indoor rooms and tents are available, which is an important practical advantage for an open-air event in Erlangen. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

Another fixed date is the Weller-Kärwa on June 12 and 13, 2026, with live music in the beer garden. For Saturday, the band O' Malley with Irish folk music is announced. Also on the homepage, there is a reference to the Wöhrmühle Open Air 2026: for visitors of the open-air concerts on the cultural island Wöhrmühle, the Thalermühle opens its restaurant and kitchen already from 4 PM on event days, with an exception on July 25, 2026. This is a strong signal for all those searching for Thalermühle Erlangen concert or Thalermühle Erlangen events, as the location actively integrates into the summer cultural scene of the city. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

The events page and calendar also show that the Thalermühle regularly works with groups and special formats. For groups of 30 or more, celebrations or events during lunchtime are possible, and the official contact page even specifically asks for group inquiries or closed societies. This fits well with a location that not only rents out individual tables but also organizes larger occasions. Whether birthday party, family celebration, or corporate event: the house is prepared for different formats and communicates this openness very clearly. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/Eventkalender?utm_source=openai))

For visitors, this is important because the Thalermühle cannot be reduced to a single type of use. During the day a restaurant, in the evening a beer garden, at events a stage and meeting point, in summer an open address for concerts and music evenings, and in bad weather flexible enough for alternative spaces. This versatility explains why terms like events, concert, beer garden, and opening hours are so closely related in search queries. The Thalermühle is not just a place to eat in Erlangen but a vibrant event venue with recurring seasonal highlights. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

Rooms, Capacity, and Celebrations

Those looking for the Thalermühle for a private or business event will find several clearly described rooms on the website. The large hall is the most important space and, according to official information, offers room for up to 200 people for menu and dance. This is a considerable size for a location of this kind and shows that it is suitable not only for small gatherings but also for larger celebrations and social occasions. The high ceiling, the existing stage, and the possibility to use the hall for musicians or performances emphasize the event character of the house. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/feiern-und-tagen/unsere-r%C3%A4ume))

In addition, there is a large side room that is particularly suitable for celebrations and events and is described for up to 35 guests. The room page also mentions a small bar, a stage, and even a mulled wine booth in the outdoor area during the Christmas season. Access to the garden terrace is via the newly built winter garden. These details are important for search queries related to Thalermühle photos, events, and rooms, as they show that the location offers visually and functionally much more than an ordinary pub. There are different zones for intimate celebrations, larger gatherings, and relaxed hours outdoors. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/feiern-und-tagen/unsere-r%C3%A4ume))

The Thalermühle is also set up for group inquiries. The website explicitly states that groups of 30 or more can request a celebration or event during lunchtime. Furthermore, the contact area refers to closed societies and corresponding inquiries. This makes it clear: the Thalermühle is not a rigid space but a flexible host for different requirements. So, if you are looking for a place with a room plan, room concept, and space for festive gatherings, you will find a location here that works for private celebrations as well as for corporate events or cultural programs. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/?utm_source=openai))

The practical conclusion is: the Thalermühle is large enough for an elegant celebration and at the same time approachable enough for a relaxed evening with friends. Through the large hall, the side room, and the beer garden, a modular structure of spaces is created that can be used differently depending on the occasion. This makes the location in Erlangen highly relevant for search queries related to capacity, celebrations, events, and concerts. Those looking for a flexible event location with gastronomy will not only get a room here but a functioning overall concept. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/feiern-und-tagen/unsere-r%C3%A4ume))

History, Brewery Weller, and Special Details

The historical depth of the Thalermühle is a central part of its appeal. The official presentation describes the ensemble as over a hundred years old and located directly on the Regnitz. Originally, the facility was founded in 1704 as a pumping station that supplied water for the water features in the Erlangen Castle Garden. Later, from the early 20th century, the building served as a power plant. The combination of historical use and today’s gastronomy creates an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in modern new buildings. This background makes the Thalermühle a place that not only tells history but also carries it forward in its architecture and function. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

For the technical history, it is important that the facility continues to operate as a hydropower plant, further shaping the historic atmosphere. The historical presentation also mentions the expansion to an electricity central in 1908, the installation of a Francis shaft turbine in 1921, the acquisition of the Wöhrmühle in 1925, and later renovation measures in 1999 as well as the replacement of the turbine in 2006. This shows that the Thalermühle not only appears to be close to a monument but has actually emerged from a vibrant technical and economic background. Those searching for Thalermühle Erlangen photos thus recognize not only a beautiful building but a piece of infrastructure history by the river. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/))

The Brewery Weller Erlangen eG also plays an important role. The cooperative was founded in 2013 and opened the Thalermühle restaurant in the historic premises in 2019. The website explicitly refers to the revival of the old brewing art rooted in Erlangen, whose tradition dates back to 1811. Today, the beers are brewed according to old Weller recipes, among others, by the Franconian family business Göller in Zeil am Main. This combination of cooperative, tradition, and modern gastronomy is a unique selling point that distinguishes the Thalermühle from many other Erlangen establishments. ([xn--thalermhle-geb.de](https://www.xn--thalermhle-geb.de/genossenschaft))

In the end, it is precisely this mix of past and present that explains why the Thalermühle is so frequently searched for. It is a historic ensemble, a brewing and gastronomy location, a beer garden by the river, and an event address at the same time. Those interested in Erlangen will find here a place where architecture, regional cuisine, beer culture, and events come together. This makes the Thalermühle more than just a restaurant: it is an experiential place with a clear identity that appeals to both locals and visitors and adds a very characteristic address to the view of Erlangen. Great atmosphere, great staff, and food was good. Tried the “Gerupfter” which is a Franconian cheese blend and it was ok. It was creamy but I didn’t notice a lot of flavour. Also tried the Schnitzel "Wiener Art" and it was a good portion. Fries were well cooked, and the schnitzel was moist. Our waiter was really good and helpful. They didn’t have an English menu so I’ve attached a copy of the translated menu (thanks Google Translate 🙈)

Inside is great, wonderful views of the river. Beer is cold and belongs to the old Erlangen brewery recipes. Beer Garten has lots of room. Very relaxed. Great food.

This unique venue is located in the former power plant of an old mill, offering a charming and distinctive atmosphere, perfect for celebrations. The food was generously portioned and well-prepared, leaving nothing to be desired. The staff was outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure everyone was satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special place to host an event.
