Association Dreycedern e.V. | Events & Courses
The Association Dreycedern e.V. is an information, counseling, and educational institution for the second half of life in Erlangen. On the website, the association describes itself as a place for health, encounter, and orientation, with offerings related to health education, dementia, and depression in old age. The central address at Altstädter Kirchenplatz 6 makes the house easily accessible for many people from Erlangen and the surrounding district, and the offerings are explicitly not limited to a single target group, but connect courses, counseling, groups, and open meetings. This mix makes the institution interesting for everyone looking for concrete help in daily life, for exchange, or for a suitable health course. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/))
Events, Courses, and the Current Event Calendar
Those looking for events at Dreycedern e.V. will find not a rigid cultural program, but a lively, socially oriented course and meeting offering. New dates regularly appear on the homepage and subpages, including spinal gymnastics, flute courses, Qi Gong, painting circles, including singing groups, discussion circles, information afternoons, and open morning meetings like “Coffee & Cookies in the Café.” The website makes it clear that Dreycedern not only informs but also invites participation. The offerings are primarily aimed at seniors, relatives, people with dementia, and anyone who wants to do something for their body, mind, and soul in the second half of life. The everyday relevance is striking: it’s about movement, creativity, exchange, and relief, not event hype. For many people, the event calendar serves as a practical entry point into the house. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/))
The website also shows how broad the topics are. In the area of health education, there are regular movement offerings, singing and music formats, as well as relaxation and creative courses. In the dementia area, there are discussion circles, movement offerings, painting courses, breakfast meetings, and consultation hours. In the area of depression in old age, self-help and exchange formats are added. For the search intention “events” or “event calendar,” this is particularly important: Dreycedern e.V. offers not only individual dates but a whole structure of ongoing offerings and thematic series. This is also complemented by its own newsletter, through which interested parties can receive current events directly. Therefore, anyone looking for an institution that not only provides sporadic but continuous social and health impulses will find a very clear and well-maintained program framework here. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kontakt/))
Registration Instead of Tickets: How Participation Works
For Dreycedern e.V., the word “tickets” is only partially appropriate, as the house functions more like a counseling, course, and meeting center than a classic ticket location. Many meetings are free or ask for a donation, while other formats have fixed fees, a limited number of participants, or require prior registration. On several pages, Dreycedern specifies whether registration is necessary, whether spontaneous participation is possible, or whether the entry should be discussed with the course leader. For example, the morning meeting “Coffee & Cookies in the Café” is free and does not require registration. Other offerings like spinal gymnastics or individual workshops have course fees and ongoing dates. This makes participation low-threshold but still planable. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kaffee-und-keks/))
Practically, this means: if you are interested in a format, you should not look for a classic box office, but use the contact methods of the association. The website lists the phone number 09131 90768-00 and the email address info@dreycedern.de as well as fixed telephone consultation hours. For many offerings, a short call or an email is enough to clarify available spots, ask about costs, or discuss entry. In some courses, a trial participation is explicitly possible, while others require registration by a certain date. This creates a flexible mix of open offerings and structured courses. Therefore, for search engines, not only “tickets” is a topic, but especially the combination of registration, course fee, free participation, and personal counseling. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kontakt/))
Specialized Office for Dementia in Erlangen and Erlangen-Höchstadt
A central profile of Dreycedern e.V. is the specialized office for caregivers and people with dementia. On the official website, it is described as a contact point in Erlangen and Erlangen-Höchstadt that advises, informs, and relieves on all questions related to dementia. The holistic approach is particularly important: the specialized office accompanies people in all phases of dementia, clarifies the disease picture, supports relatives in maintaining quality of life, and helps in crisis situations with appropriate solutions. If necessary, specialized counselors even come to the home. This is a strong practical advantage for those affected and families, as not every situation can be resolved with an on-site visit. Dreycedern is thus not only an event location but also a low-threshold social contact point in this field with clear regional responsibility. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/depression-im-alter/))
The specific offerings for people with dementia and their relatives are particularly diverse. On the dementia pages, there are discussion circles, movement programs, painting courses, breakfast meetings, and consultation hours for people with early-stage dementia. Additionally, there are Erlangen caregivers who relieve relatives and, depending on need, spend time with the affected person. The website also mentions digital bridge builders, i.e., counseling and exchange formats via video telephony when personal contact is not possible. This shows that Dreycedern not only relies on presence but also offers flexible ways of support. For the search intentions “dementia,” “care,” and “relatives,” the house is therefore a very relevant address in Erlangen. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/demenz/veranstaltungen/))
Depression in Old Age and the Erlangen Alliance Against Depression
Another core area is “Depression in Old Age.” The website explains that Dreycedern has been coordinating the Erlangen Alliance Against Depression since its founding in 2001. This alliance is a coalition of Erlangen institutions, counseling centers, self-help groups, doctors, and psychotherapists. This results in a strong network that not only informs but also connects and offers concrete events. For older people with depression experience or for relatives, this is particularly relevant because here, not just a single conversation is involved, but a supportive system stands behind it. Dreycedern is also described on the website as one of the first contact points in Erlangen for older people with depression and their relatives. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/depression-im-alter/))
The offerings in this area are practical and respectful. On the subpages, there are discussion circles like “Center,” self-help offerings, events on the topic of depression, as well as companion and support formats. The content shows that the association does not view mental health in old age in isolation but in connection with everyday life, social participation, and relief. The approach is low-threshold and human: it’s about exchange, orientation, and not being alone with burdens. Especially for search queries related to “depression in old age,” “self-help,” or “counseling,” Dreycedern is thus an important and trustworthy address in Erlangen. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/depression-im-alter/veranstaltungen-depression-im-alter/?utm_source=openai))
Health Education in the Second Half of Life
The third major focus of the association is health education. Dreycedern describes its health education meeting point with the slogan “Aging in Balance” and pursues a holistic understanding of health. Health here means not only fitness but also mental and emotional well-being as well as social inclusion. That’s why the program ranges from spinal gymnastics to Qi Gong to dance, music, and creative offerings. The website explicitly emphasizes that learning and development processes remain possible even with health limitations and that preventive offerings promote physical, mental, and social health. This is a clear added value for people who want to stay active in everyday life without having to fit into a classic gym. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/gesundheitsbildung/?utm_source=openai))
The specific courses show how broad this area is. For spinal gymnastics, there are several weekly courses, open enrollment for available spots, and the possibility to try out. Qi Gong is described as easy to learn and is supposed to help with tension as well as for physical and emotional well-being. In the painting circle, watercolor and other techniques have been used for many years; according to the website, the course has been offered in the house for 40 years and is explicitly aimed at people of all ages who enjoy painting. Additional offerings include flute courses, singing groups, movement meetings, and other formats. Therefore, anyone searching for “courses,” “health education,” “Qi Gong,” or “spinal gymnastics” will find a very concrete, regular, and everyday-oriented offering world here. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kurse-wirbelsaeulengymnastik/?utm_source=openai))
Contact, Location, and Practical Information at Altstädter Kirchenplatz
The address of Dreycedern e.V. is Altstädter Kirchenplatz 6, 91054 Erlangen. The website also provides the phone number 09131 90768-00, the email address info@dreycedern.de, and clear telephone consultation hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. This is very helpful for seekers because many offerings are organized not only online but especially through direct contact. The newsletter is also explicitly mentioned on the contact page and informs about current events. For an institution that connects counseling, courses, and encounters, this direct accessibility is an important part of the user experience. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kontakt/))
On-site, the offerings take place in various rooms in the house depending on the format. The website mentions, among others, the café area on the first floor, the gymnastics room, and the large hall on the ground floor. This suggests that Dreycedern is more of a multifunctional house than a single stage or event hall. The website does not mention a dedicated, prominently marked parking area, so visitors should plan their arrival in advance with regard to the central location in the old town area. This is a cautious conclusion based on the published information and not a substitute for an official parking inquiry. Those who want to be sure should therefore best use the phone contact or email to clarify their arrival. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/kontakt/))
Special Features, Network, and Why Dreycedern e.V. is More Than a Location
Dreycedern e.V. is not just a place with dates but a social hub. The website describes the association as a member of the Paritätischer Welfare Association and emphasizes a holistic understanding of health. Additionally, the association has been coordinating the Erlangen Alliance Against Depression since 2001 and collaborates with partners from the city, district, and professional world. The work at the specialized office for caregivers and people with dementia is also supported by public and social actors. This networking is important for the quality of the offerings because it connects counseling, prevention, and social participation. Thus, a house is created that not only imparts content but also radiates trust and continuity. ([dreycedern.de](https://dreycedern.de/wir-sind-2/?utm_source=openai))
New or complementary projects also demonstrate this development. The website features the neighborhood project “Old Town & Burgberg: Aging Together,” which has been strengthening neighborhood-based senior work in the northern city since 2025 and particularly focuses on participation, low-threshold support, and citizen-oriented counseling. Additionally, there are digital bridge builders, regular open meetings, and events that promote social contacts. Overall, Dreycedern thus appears as a house for healthy, supportive, and networked aging: open, professionally grounded, and practically oriented. Anyone looking for a location for events that truly fulfills a social mission will find a clear and credible place here, focusing on humanity rather than show.
We need to clear things up here: The "Verein Dreycedern e.V." is a social organization that runs a social center here. There are three great topics on the outside of the door: 1 – "Meeting Point for Health Education in the Second Half of Life" 2 – "Specialist Center for Caregivers and People with Dementia" 3 – "Counseling Center DiA – Dementia in Old Age" So, now that we've cleared things up: You probably haven't eaten great pork loins here. But maybe next door – in the bistro, which is probably also run by this organization? And which I'm now finally going to correctly add as a map entry on Google Maps as "bistro"...

Bistro with a very good and affordable lunch menu. No alcoholic drinks. Outdoor seating with a lovely view. Relaxed atmosphere. A little hidden gem!

They have a very good lunch there at an even better price. My group and I always go there when there's a celebration. But you should know, there's no alcohol in Dreycedern. Some of the people who work there have addiction problems and receive support there to manage their illness.

A real hidden gem! Excellent food and very good value for money! The pork tenderloin is especially worth it! Service can sometimes be a little slow, but that's perfectly fine since it's a community-run establishment and not a professional restaurant. You can also sit on the terrace in the summer, which is lovely.
