Yamuna - Dance & Yoga | Belly Dance & Yoga

Yamuna - Dance & Yoga in Erlangen is a special address for people who seek movement not just as training, but as an experience for body, mind, and atmosphere. The studio combines oriental belly dance, yoga, workshops, seminars, events, and a flexibly usable space rental at a central location on Dechsendorfer Straße 14. The website clearly shows what the location stands for: qualified instruction, a warm welcoming culture, and spaces consciously designed for encounters, presence, and well-being. Those searching for Yamuna Dance Erlangen, Yamuna Dance & Yoga, or even Yamuna Dance will find here not a classic event house, but a studio with a personal touch, clear orientation, and a long history on site. The site mentions belly dance classes, yoga courses, individual sessions, studio rentals, as well as events, and simultaneously refers to a friendly, bright, and lovingly equipped environment. This mix makes Yamuna particularly interesting for local search queries: The location is not just a place for training, but also a space for courses, encounters, and special formats. The official pages also transparently present the most important practical information, from directions and parking to room size, equipment, and usage options. Belly Dance in Erlangen: Courses, Levels, and Teaching Philosophy

The strongest content focus of Yamuna is clearly oriental belly dance. The official website describes the teaching philosophy as a combination of joy in dancing, pedagogically sound instruction, and training that addresses body and soul. The focus is on basic posture, expression, presence, sense of rhythm, and spatial orientation. Typical movements are based on body isolations of the hips, upper body, shoulders, head, arms, and hands, and are expanded through steps, movement sequences, and turns. That is why belly dance at Yamuna is not just a nice term, but a clearly structured course offering with understandable methodology. The courses are aimed at different levels: The course page mentions advanced, intermediate, and beginner courses, as well as trial and sample classes. At the same time, it is emphasized that all belly dance courses include a warm-up, stretching, and cool-down sequence. This is particularly relevant for search queries like belly dance Erlangen or belly dance courses Erlangen, as interested individuals can immediately see how the lessons are structured and how they can get started. Additionally, the page shows that throughout the dance experience, props such as veils, zills, sticks, fan veils, and choreographies are also incorporated. The fee structure is equally clear: Regular courses run weekly for 75 minutes, there are monthly fees, discounted rates, multiple bookings, and drop-in options. A free trial class is explicitly offered. This openness makes the studio interesting for both beginners and long-time dancers looking for a reliable place with style, continuity, and personal support. Yoga Courses, Individual Coaching, and the Calm Side of Yamuna

The second major theme is yoga. Yamuna describes yoga as a path of unity and connection of body, mind, and soul, and places value on qualified, participant-adapted instruction in its presentation. The website mentions Hatha Yoga, Tibetan Yoga, workshops, yoga seminars, and yoga retreats. For specific search queries like yoga Erlangen or yoga courses Erlangen, it is particularly important that the course schedule is publicly accessible: Hatha Yoga takes place on Mondays in the early evening as a prevention course with health insurance reimbursement, while Tibetan Yoga is held on Tuesday evenings. Additionally, there are individual sessions and yoga coaching for those who prefer to work individually rather than in a group. This is a strong signal for users looking for a studio with personal guidance. The yoga page also clearly articulates the intended effects of the instruction: energy flow, regeneration, relaxation, body awareness, better posture, strength, flexibility, balance, breathing techniques, stress reduction, and inner peace. The didactic line is also understandable: quality and accuracy are more important than speed or performance, and the practice should be integrable into everyday life. Bärbel Friesleben is mentioned on the instructor page as the director; it is also clear that she has been the owner of Yamuna since 1997, has been working as a yoga teacher since 2014, and has been recognized by the Central Prevention Agency for Hatha Yoga courses since 2015. This gives the location professional credibility and long-term establishment. For the search intention behind Yamuna Dance & Yoga, this combination is crucial: belly dance and yoga are not just standing side by side as keywords, but two clearly defined areas with their own course and philosophy profiles. ([yamuna-tanz.de](https://www.yamuna-tanz.de/yoga/))

Directions, Parking, and Central Location in Erlangen

A significant part of the local search intention for a location like Yamuna almost always revolves around directions. The official contact page is very concrete and helpful here: The studio is located at Dechsendorfer Straße 14 in 91054 Erlangen. It can be reached by car via the A73, exit Erlangen-Nord. Particularly important for visitors is the parking information: There are customer parking spaces (DE14) directly at the studio, and the website also mentions the commuter parking lot at the Erlangen-Nord highway exit and city center parking at the E-Werk. This clarity reduces uncertainty and is relevant for all search queries related to parking, directions, and contact. For those who prefer to come by public transport, there are also precise details: It is about a 15-minute walk from Erlangen main station, alternatively, bus lines 202, 283, 286, and 287 go to the Schlachthof stop, from there it is about 7 minutes. For a city location, this is a real advantage, as it remains easily accessible by both car and train or bus. The central location is also repeatedly emphasized on the homepage and in the rental pages. This is not only practical but also SEO-relevant, as many users explicitly search for studios, dance schools, or event locations in a central location in Erlangen. The website does not make the location a secret insider spot, but a transparently described meeting point for movement and encounters. Especially for recurring courses, evening events, or weekend seminars, this is an important argument, as good accessibility and clear parking information enhance the visitor experience even before arrival. Studio Rental: Rooms, Equipment, and Capacities

Yamuna is not only a course space but explicitly also a rental location. The rental page describes the studio as spacious, bright, flooded with light, and friendly. The dance and movement area covers 140 sqm and is equipped with a parquet dance floor and a concealable mirror wall. The celebration page mentions a group room of 150 sqm for the event area; these details show that Yamuna is described somewhat differently depending on the usage area, but in any case, it offers a very spacious feeling. The equipment includes a cozy large seating area or lounge with a view of nature, a large changing room, a fitted kitchen, a shower, and two toilets. The website also mentions a high-quality stereo system with a mixing console, dimmable lighting, mats, bolsters, cushions, chairs, backjacks, beer table sets, an air purifier, and Wi-Fi. For inquiries in the areas of dance, yoga, voice, singing, music, massage, bodywork, therapy, counseling, coaching, supervision, creative stays, concerts, celebrations, dance events, and rituals, this is a very broad spectrum. Practically relevant is also that the studio is located on the first floor and does not have an elevator. For events, the website lists price tiers for up to about 60 people, providing a realistic capacity orientation without sacrificing the intimate atmosphere. For those looking to rent space in Erlangen or studio rental Erlangen, Yamuna is therefore a mix of functional course space and charming feel-good location. The equipment is not neutral but consciously tailored to movement, group experience, and creative use. This distinguishes the place from any arbitrary multipurpose space and explains why it is interesting for both smaller private formats and professional group offerings. Photos, Impressions, and the Special Atmosphere in the Studio

The keywords around photos and images are particularly important for a location like Yamuna because potential visitors want to see in advance what kind of atmosphere awaits them. The website provides several visual and atmospheric anchors for this purpose. Already on the homepage, images, short event notes, and guest statements are used. The menu also includes a gallery, and the pages for room rental present the studio with specific image descriptions. Content-wise, this creates a clear picture: bright rooms, wood or parquet flooring, mirror wall, seating area, plenty of daylight, and a friendly, not sterile environment. The embedded voices on the homepage are also relevant, as they confirm the room's effect from the user's perspective. There, it is referred to as a gem in Erlangen, with wonderful ambiance, good room acoustics during sound events, and the fact that people feel very comfortable in the spaces. Such feedback is particularly valuable for keyword combinations like Yamuna Dance & Yoga photos or images of Yamuna Dance & Yoga Erlangen, as they connect the purely visual search with a clear experiential dimension. Additionally, the website does not use exaggerated promotional language but rather presents its spaces and offerings in a calm, warm, and personal manner. This creates trust and fits well with target groups interested in dance, yoga, bodywork, or seminars. The photos and impressions thus tell less about an interchangeable event space and more about a place with character, where movement becomes visible and encounters are taken seriously. Those searching for atmosphere in images do not get a studio in an anonymous commercial style here, but a location with warmth, light, and personal imprint. ([yamuna-tanz.de](https://www.yamuna-tanz.de/))

Workshops, Events, Shows, and Special Formats at Yamuna

Another strong area of search and content is the event and workshop profile. Yamuna states on the homepage that it not only offers classes but also organizes seminars and events. The room rental pages specify these uses even further: dance events, concerts, celebrations, rituals, workshops, and creative stays. This makes the location adaptable for many types of events that go beyond the classic course operation. The homepage also highlights current upcoming events, including an open house with a bazaar and a trance dance concert with Busch-Werk / Herman Kathan. These examples already show that Yamuna is open not only for regular courses but also for special cultural and musical formats. Additionally, a section for belly dance shows is linked on the website, and the belly dance offerings showcase teachers, workshops, and performance formats. So, those looking for events in Erlangen or a place for an artistically oriented event will find a location that serves a certain niche: movement-oriented, warm, creative, and also well-organized. This is particularly interesting for organizers looking for a space that does not feel like a sterile standard rental but rather has personality. The fact that the space is suitable for music, voice, meditation, bodywork, or therapeutic groups further expands the spectrum. In the search results around Yamuna Dance Erlangen or Yamuna Dance, there is not only the desire for instruction but often also the expectation of a lively cultural place. Exactly this expectation is fulfilled by Yamuna with a mix of courses, special formats, and an open, community-oriented room structure. ([yamuna-tanz.de](https://www.yamuna-tanz.de/))

About Bärbel Friesleben and the History of Yamuna

The personal touch of the location is closely linked to Bärbel Friesleben, who is named as the owner on the website. Her instructor page provides an important historical framework: She is a graduate social educator, dancer, and teacher in oriental belly dance since 1990 and has been the owner of Yamuna - Dance & Yoga since 1997. In addition, she has been practicing yoga intensively since 2005, has been a BDYoga yoga teacher since 2014 and an Advanced Yoga teacher AYI, and has been recognized for Hatha Yoga courses by the Central Prevention Agency since 2015. These details are not only biographical but also an argument for continuity, quality, and local roots. In a time when many offers quickly arise and disappear, such long-term commitment is a real differentiating feature. The belly dance and yoga pages also show that Yamuna is pedagogically clearly positioned: It is about sound instruction, adaptation to the participants, and a practice that connects movement with mindfulness. For the search terms Yamuna Dance Erlangen and Yamuna Dance & Yoga, this is crucial, as not only the name but also the profile becomes visible. The location is not just any space with a few courses, but a developed studio with its own history, its own teaching tradition, and a clear idea of bodywork, dance culture, and community. This also explains why so many positive impressions and long-standing connections are visible on the homepage. People apparently like to stay, come back, and describe the spaces as a place to feel good. It is precisely this mix of person, program, and space that creates the Yamuna brand. Those looking for a place for belly dance, yoga, seminars, or special events in Erlangen will therefore find here not just an address, but a coherent overall picture with professional depth and personal atmosphere. A fantastic dance studio, run with great heart and passion by Bärbel. You can expect varied classes, fun, and excellent belly dancing instruction of consistently high quality – even as a long-time student, you always learn something new. The studio has bright rooms with parquet flooring and large mirrors, comfortably furnished. Although you might not guess it from the outside, it's truly a place to feel at ease.

I've been dancing at Yamuna since around 2005, with some breaks due to studies, moving, or family... but I've always come back because nowhere else has it been such a good fit. The teachers are fantastic, the atmosphere in the groups is warm and welcoming, and the studio is simply cozy and well-equipped. My weekly dance class is my escape from the hectic pace of everyday life.

5hoch5 stars for Bärbel and Yamuna. When you stand in front of it, you can't believe what beautiful rooms you enter. It's truly a place to feel good all around. The decor, the layout, the pictures and colors, and especially the panoramic window with a view of the greenery and the sky. But all of this would mean nothing if it weren't for Bärbel Yamuna, who has shaped and maintained this space with love and experience for many years, allowing inspirations to flow in and inspiring herself. A valuable place for people who want to meet in a dancing, musical, yogic, and ceremonial way.

A pleasantly designed space with a good sound system and a wide variety of events including dance, yoga, personal development, tantra, concerts, mantra singing... However, the two toilets can become a bottleneck when there are many participants.
