Experience Art Differently: Discover Adolf Schinnerer with All Senses

At the Erlangen City Museum, visiting the exhibition Newly Seen – Adolf Schinnerer becomes a playful-sensory exploration of the works. A specially developed experience bag opens curious access to painting and graphics and invites one to explore art attentively, independently, and interactively.

An Experience Bag for New Perspectives

The experience bag connects cultural education with aesthetic experience. It transforms the tour into a personal journey of discovery where perception, movement, and careful observation work together. This creates a special exhibition atmosphere in which visitors gradually uncover Adolf Schinnerer’s world of images.

Adolf Schinnerer’s Versatile Work

The special exhibition presents a representative selection from the oeuvre of the artist born in 1876. Schinnerer worked as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and art writer. His motifs range from Franconian landscapes and views of Tennenlohe to portraits and expressive etchings.

Over a hundred paintings and graphic works provide a differentiated view of an important artist from the Erlangen region. Works like Self-Portrait, Summer Landscape, Tulip Bed, Sitting Girl, and Village Street, Tennenlohe show the range between painting, drawing, and printmaking.

Historical Rooms, Regional Art History

The city museum in the heart of the Erlangen old town connects the special exhibition with its permanent exhibition on city and regional history. The historic rooms create a tension-filled dialogue between regional culture, art history, and modern museum education. For families, art enthusiasts, and curious first-time visitors, Experience Art Differently offers direct access to the exploration of the works.

Conclusion: An Art Experience for Curious Visitors

Those who want to not only view art but actively discover it will find an inspiring reason to visit the Erlangen City Museum. The experience bag, Schinnerer’s versatile pictorial language, and the special spatial effect combine sensory perception with art historical classification. This art experience enriches cultural education and invites visitors to experience the exhibition live with open eyes and all senses.
